Simplify Your Life from Outside In

Okay, stop!! Take a breath. Exhale. Now another breath. You're doing great . . . exhale. Nice job relaxing!

For this article, I need your full attention. Don't skim, because that's not relaxing; that's hurrying. Relax your shoulders. Take another deep breath. Exhale.

You needed those deep breathes, didn't you? I could tell!

So you feel overwhelmed? Want to simplify and organize your life although it seems impossible? Well I know that you can't drop everything in your life--family, kids, work, social obligations--and go live in a spa! I wish. But there comes a point in your life when you need to do something. | Read more . . .

Quotations about Simplicity

Simplicity is a strict taskmaster. --Mason Cooley

Outward simplicity befits ordinary men, like a garment made to measure for them; but it serves as an adornment to those who have filled their lives with great deeds: they might be compared to some beauty carelessly dressed and thereby all the more attractive. --Jean De La Bruyère

Motivation

Live in Motivation Mode

The daily grind. A slump. Off course. In the dumps. A rut.

There's lots of ways to say it, but you know what I mean. You have an idea of where you want to be, but for some reason or other, you can't seem to get from point A to point B.

And I'm not just talking about your career here. Lack of motivation can drain any part of your life--family, social, church. Even your old hobbies can lay on the shelf, in the garage, or out in the shed for weeks, months . . . years.

What happened? You were zipping along in life enthusiastically, and bit by bit . . . | Read more . . .

How-To's

How To Freeze Peaches

Fresh Georgia Peaches

Mmmmm, smell those peaches! The entire house is scented of . . . summertime.

Peaches are ripe during the first part of the summer in the South. We picked peaches from a gorgeous orchard. I brought home a boxful and then realized--I had no idea what to do with them!

So after asking around, my hubby's kinds family told me how they freeze their peaches (keeping in mind that the Family in general scoffs at cookbooks and other so-called experts, as their knowledge has been handed down for generations.)

First, spread the peaches out on a table, countertop, or some other surface. Be sure they are in an out-of-the way spot. Wait for them to ripen. | Read more . . .

How To Clean the Kid's Pool (and keep it clean)

Adrianna

Okay, for #356 on today's to-do list: Clean the Kid's Pool.

For the little pools, it's easy to dump them every day or so. For the bigger pools, there's a lot more work and water involved. Here's how to clean those bigger pools and keep them sparkly-fresh for about a week at a time.

First, start with a clean pool. If the pool already has water in it, dump the water and start from scratch.

Next, clean the surface of the pool. How you do this will depend on the type of pool you have--blow-up pools seem to be much more fragile than the roll-out pools. Be sure all debris such as leaves and dirt is removed from the bottom of the pool. Wipe the pool down to get rid of mold and mud . . . | Read more . . .
